About The Founder

Founded in 2019, Alternative Beauty Artistry serves clients across Durham Region and the Greater Toronto Area, offering a clinical, client-focused approach to aesthetics and wellness.

With experience in the beauty industry since 2018, Shawanna, RN, BScN, built a strong foundation in detailed, client-focused treatments before advancing into healthcare. This combined experience allows her to approach aesthetics with both an artistic eye and a clinical understanding.

As a Registered Nurse, Shawanna integrates principles of skin health, wound healing, infection prevention, and patient education into every treatment. Her approach is grounded in thorough assessment, safe clinical practice, and a clear understanding of how treatments interact with the body over time. All treatments are performed under medical directive and aligned with established clinical standards.
